Boyd CEO “Glass Acquisitions Represent Opportunity for Future”

More glass company acquisitions could be in Boyd Group’s future, said Brock Bulbuck, CEO. However, right now, Canadian-based Boyd Group Income Fund, parent company to Gerber Collision & Glass, Glass America and Hansen Collision and Glass, is focused on integrating the glass businesses it has acquired over the last year, Bulbuck said. “When we acquired Netcost Claims Services (a third-party automotive glass claims distributor) it had an in-house call center,” Bulbuck explained in a company conference call Friday. “Our preexisting company, Gerber National Glass Services, outsourced its call center. The integration of those two businesses required that we ramp up resources of our in-house call center into training mode while at the same time maintaining the third-party call center. So the bottom line is that we are carrying more resources than we need to carry over the integration and transition period. That should moderate over a number of a quarters.” Netcost is transitioning into a part of the Gerber National Glass Services brand. Click here to read...

Cheskis Anticipates Changes with Acquisition of Netcost

Gerber National Glass Services (GNGS), a third-party automotive glass claims administrator (TPA), might soon move away from its partnership with LYNX Services, which provides call center services. Boyd Group Income Fund is purchasing Netcost Claims Services (NCS)—and bringing with it, a call center—to combine with GNGS, according to Eddie Cheskis, CEO of Glass America, a Boyd Group subsidiary. “Clearly since we now have our own call center and infrastructure, we will eventually move our existing customers from LYNX Services to our own call center,” says Cheskis. “LYNX has been a very good partner for us. … We expect to bring the two businesses [GNGS and NCS] together to capture more market share and we will take time to decide what the branding will be. For our customers, it is business as usual and nothing has changed.” By combining NCS and GNGS, the company “accomplishes some scale and synergies that will help us perform more effectively.” Click here to read...

Boyd Group to Acquire NCS

Boyd Group Income Fund, parent company to U.S.-based Gerber Collision & Glass, Glass America, Hansen Collision and Glass among others, is acquiring Schaumburg, Ill.-based Netcost Claims Services (NCS), an automotive glass claims administrator for insurer companies. NCS was founded in 2000 and has about 80 employees, with about 70 capable of handling automotive glass claims. NCS expands Boyd Group’s existing third party administration business, Gerber National Glass Services (GNGS), that offers first notice of loss, automotive glass and related services through its network of automotive glass providers across the U.S. third party administrators (TPAs) that serve the fleet management and insurance-funded segments of the automotive glass repair industry by providing a complete outsourced solution from the time that a claim is made, according to a company statement.
