Our Privacy Commitment

Gerber National Claim Services is committed to protecting the privacy and security of your personal information obtained by reason of your customer relationship with us. This policy explains the types of personal information we collect, how it is used, and the steps we take to ensure that the privacy of your personal information is appropriately protected.

For the purposes of this Privacy Policy, “Gerber” means Gerber National Claim Services. Gerber National Claim Services is a third party claims administrator that operates in United States. This policy applies to Gerber National Claim Services.

What is Personal Information?

Personal information is information that refers to an individual specifically and is recorded in any form. Personal information includes such things as age, income, date of birth, ethnic origin, unique identification numbers, medical and financial data.

Information about individuals contained in public telephone directories (where a subscriber can refuse to be listed), professional and business directories available to the public, certain public registries and court records, and certain other publicly available publications is not considered personal information.

What Personal Information does Gerber Collect and How is it Used?

Gerber National Claim Services collects two types of information: personal information and non-personal information. We will identify the purpose for which your personal information is collected, either before or at the time that we collect your personal information. Listed here are some examples of the purposes for which we may collect, use or disclose your personal information;

Processing Claims

In order for Gerber to process your claim you may need to provide us with contact and payment information (such as your credit card information and or insurance coverage information) so that we can process your claim.

Conducting Customer Satisfaction Surveys

Having to have a car repaired after an accident can be a rather traumatic experience. Providing help to our customers in a caring and professional manner is at the heart of what Gerber National Claim Services does. In order to ensure a superior level of service Gerber acquires customer feedback through the use of email and/or text surveys. Personal information regarding your individual preferences may be collected during these surveys and used to improve our customer service levels.

Offering an Opportunity to Participate in a Contest, Promotion, or Survey

From time to time, we may run contests, promotions, or surveys. If you participate, you may be asked for contact information as well as additional optional survey information (for example, prize preferences). Information from contest entries will be used to contact you if you win. We may also summarize survey information in a manner that no longer identifies the contest entrants for analysis, but will not share personal information from entries. All contests are subject to rules that will be available with each particular contest.

You can always choose not to provide us with any of your personal information. However, if you make this choice we may not be able to provide you with the product, service, or information that you requested. For example, we can only offer you the use of a vehicle if we are able to take a copy of your valid drivers license.

How does Gerber Obtain Consent to Collect, Use and Disclose My Personal Information?

Gerber National Claim Services obtains your consent to collect, use or disclose personal information. The method of obtaining consent is appropriate to the type and sensitivity of personal information being collected, used or disclosed.

In some cases, your consent is implied if we ask you to provide personal information with a stated purpose. For example, we can only keep you informed on the progress of the repairs to your vehicle if you provide us with your phone number or e-mail address. Before we can begin work on your vehicle we require you to sign the repair order indicating the work that is to be completed. You will be given the opportunity, before you sign the repair order to withdraw your consent to have your information used for customer satisfaction feedback. If you have “opted in” by not directing us to withhold your information from customer satisfaction surveys, we will always provide you the opportunity to “opt-out” at a later date. For example, upon completion of the repair order you will again be given the opportunity to change your decision by indicating that you wish to withdraw your consent.

In other cases, we will ask you to give your express consent to collect, use or disclose your personal information where such information would be considered sensitive. For example, we would obtain your express consent to disclose your personal information should you enter a contest or promotion Gerber may offer.
